Awards Procedure

 

  1. Pooling of nominees: All the nominees for the respective categories were nominated by the Sri Lankan cyber community.

 

  1. Voting: Votes are authenticated by a valid Facebook ID (not by a browser cookie), and one Facebook profile can provide only one vote for one category.

 

  1. Selection of winners: At the end of the voting period, the voting system automatically reports the current standing winners to the agency.

 

  1. Access Control:The voting platform, by design, does not allow the agency or any sponsor to nominate or vote anyone / any page.

 

  1. Correctness: The system is developed and tested according to the Industry accepted best practices. The Agency does not accept responsibility of factors outside its control, technical or otherwise.

 

  1. Security:The voting platform is built following the industry-accepted best practices, and to the best of the Agency’s knowledge, is resistant to known infiltration techniques.

 

  1. Privacy: The data collected in the voting platform does not include any Personally Identifiable Information (PII), and will be limited to the valid Facebook access token for authentication purposes.

 

  1. Anonymity: The voting results are aggregated and consolidated before reporting, and thus it does not allow identification of who voted for whom.

 

  1. Data storage: All the data collected will be removed from the voting platform systems after the event, and no data will be kept on our systems that could lead to a potential loss of privacy.

 

  1. Liability: The system is provided ‘as-is’ and is to be used at the voters responsibility. The Agency and/or its authorized third parties are not liable for any damage caused by the use of the Voting platform.
